The photograph depicts the young ruler seated with state officials in the company of two European Political Agents. Sadiq Muhammad Khan (1862-1899) succeeded to the nawabship in 1866 as a child of four and during the period of his minority the administration was placed in British hands. The European seated beside the young Nawab is presumably Charles Cherry Minchin, Madras Staff Corps and Political Agent at Bahawalpur in 1870.
