- Description: Letters written home to his wife during service as a Private with the 5th Battalion The Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment) training in the United Kingdom, and then on active service with the 17th Battalion The Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment) (6th Brigade, 2nd Division) on the Western Front, chiefly discussing the difficulties in being separated from his wife and maintaining a regular correspondence with home, while also describing his gas and bombing training. Jarvis was killed in action on 10 June 1917.
