- Summary:
- The Charles C. Yeloushan papers consist of coal mining maps, mine engineering diagrams, reports on coal reserves, land tracts and coal properties, and photographs created in the course of his long career as mine engineer and mining consultant, both in the United States and abroad in Japan and Germany. While earning a degree from Penn State in mine engineering, Yeloushan worked vacations and summers in the mines of the Rochester,and Pittsburgh Coal Company. near his hometown of Yatesboro, Pennsylvania. He applied his mine engineering knowledge as an engineer in the U.S. Army during the mid-to late 1950s. Upon completing service, he embarked on his professional career as a mine engineer and consultant.

- Biographical or Historical Sketch:
- Charles C. Yeloushan was born April 19, 1931 in Western Pennsylvania, and raised in Yatesboro. Earning a degree in mining engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, he had a long and productive career as a mining engineer, working for the Bureau of Mines in Pittsburgh, among many other postings. In 1963, he married Margeret Strehle, of Murrasyville, Pennsylvania, and the couple rasied a son and daughter. Charles passed away June 23, 1997.
