Building no. 510." - Biographical or Historical Sketch
- The building that would come to be known as the Infirmary was built as a faculty residence in 1898 under the auspices of Magnus Ihlseng. Constructed of wood on a brick foundation with a poured slab basement, the cottage stands along Curtin Road just west of Pattee Library.
It has undergone numerous changes in both name and function, serving as the Infirmary, the Health Services Building, and, as Beecher House, the School of Home Economics Home Management house. The structure has also been affiliated with Romance languages, English composition, and the College of Earth & Mineral Sciences. - Index Note
