- The Recreation Building was constructed in 1928 and occupied in 1929, with additions in 1952 and 1962-63. It was designed by Charles Z. Klauder. The building was originally named Recreation Hall, but in 1957 was renamed Recreation Building. It is commonly known as Rec Hall. The building houses basketball courts, a jogging track, weight rooms, and numerous other athletic facilities. It was the home of the Penn State basketball program, 1929-1996.
