- Active laser tests have been performed on Owens-Illinois and French neodymium laser glass using a CGE VD320 glass laser. Both the damage characteristics and the laser properties were studied. The Owens-Illinois glass damaged internally at levels between 16 and 24 J/cm2 while the CGE glass exhibited no damage at these levels. The induced emission cross sections and losses were also measured for these glasses.
