Summary
Comfort, fit, and sizing are primary concerns for pregnant women who wear protective clothing. To aid the industry in meeting the needs of these pregnant women, an anthropometric measurement study was completed for women who stated their prior-to-pregnancy size as being size 10, 12, or 14. Measurements were taken at the fifth, seventh, and ninth months of pregnancy. An analysis of measurements taken indicate that circumference measurements (bust, waist, hips, thighs) generally known to change during pregnancy do increase, however, other measurements critical to fit may change during pregnancy and must be taken into consideration to achieve appropriate fit within protective clothing for pregnant women.
