- The authors further their research studies presented at the International Society for Skiing Safety (ISSS) Keystone and Naeba Congresses on the isolated anterior cruciate ligament lesions and those associated with meniscus injuries through arthroscopic control. This study considers the mechanisms of production of the injuries and the stresses to which the knee is submitted in some cases in alpine skiing, since the anterior cruciate ligament rupture can occur without the skier falling. Possible means to prevent these increasingly common alpine skiing injuries are also searched for in this paper.
