Summary
Stray current corrosion of prestressed concrete beams was investigated in the laboratory by exposing 40 specimens 6.4 by 6.4 by 122 cm (2.5 by 2.5 by 48 in.), prestressed by a central high-strength steel wire to 1.86 ¿̐ư 109 N/m2 (270 ksi), in seawater. The steel wire was made anodic to a copper cathode, with steel current densities maintained at fixed values between 27 and 915 mA/m2 (2.5 and 85 mA/ft2)
