- (a) These methods cover the determination of fluoride ion in industrial water and industrial waste water. Three methods are given as follows: Sections Referee Method 5 to 10, Non-Referee Method A (Zirconium-Alizarin) 11 to 18 Sections Non-Referee Method B (Zirconium-Eriochrome Cyanine) 19 to 27 (b) The Referee Method covers the accurate measurement of fluoride ion in water through isolation of the fluoride by distillation. The Non-Referee Methods provide more convenient and faster means of determining fluoride ion when interfering substances are not present or when they are within tolerable limits.
