- Description: This series consists of two telegrams from the Secretary of War to the family of Staff Sergeant William West in DeRidder, Louisiana. The first telegram was sent on 7 April 1945 and informs his family that West has been missing in action since 20 March. On 28 November 1945, his family was officially notified that he was killed in action while flying over Germany.
