- Description: Nicolae Nemes-Munteanu, cimpoi(bagpipe), 60 yrs. From Cornereva-Caras Severin, Banat. His bagpipe had six holes and was played with the first three fingers of each hand. He made his own instrument, a very nice example with a curved cow's horn end of the fingering pipe (caraba). Beadson the end of string, a medallion and a picture of his family were hanging from the end of the caraba. The drone of the bagpipe is called "taranz" and was in three parts. The part closest to the player's mouth is called "sufloniu" and is made from a sheep'sfoot. The bag is called "burduf". The player's village is called Strugasca and he finished the first three classes at basic school.He also plays the violin, taragot, and clarinet.
