- The Miserere is for 9 parts, unaccompanied; the Mass for 6 parts, unaccompanied; and the motets for 3-4 parts with basso continuo (organ solo).
The Miserere is performed twice: once with ornamentation only in the highest voice as it was sung at the end of the 18th century, and once with ornamentation more typical of that improvised by the singers of the Sistine Chapel during Allegri's time (mid-17th century) - Participant/Performer Note
