Publication date probably 1858. T.B. Peterson and Brothers was first listed at 306 Chestnut Street in McElroy's Philadelphia city directory for 1858, however the directory was published annually in the beginning of the year. In the publisher's advertisements some of the books listed as "just published" or "new work" were published in 1858.
J.D. Logan's Thomas Chandler Haliburton lists three different editions of this title published by T.B. Peterson. Two editions have two lithograph plates and are dated 1846 and 1856. Another has two wood cuts on plates and is dated 1857. All of the editions by Peterson are considered pirated editions. Cf. Logan, J.D. Thomas Chandler Haliburton, p. 159-160, 168.
