McLoughlin Bros., Inc. was located at 71 & 73 Duane St. between 1871 and 1886. The earliest McLoughlin publisher's catalogue held by the American Antiquarian Society that was printed at this address was issued ca. 1875. This catalogue contains the entry, "Little folks' series. Cap quarto. Six full-page pictures, printed in colors. ... Old woman who lived in a shoe." Last page blank. Wrapper and textual illustrations printed in color by a relief process."
