According to New York city directories, both McLoughlin and Elton & Co. were listed as publishers between 1851 and 1853. In printed stiff-paper cover. Cover printed in red and black ink. Pictorial design, upper cover, signed: AM. "John McLoughlin, successor to Elton & Co., New York, bookseller, and publisher of toy and juvenile books, manufacturer of valentines, grate-aprons, &c."--publisher's advertisement, lower cover."
