- Summary
- "Our little friends are here presented with a beautiful story; one that is both moral and interesting. It was written by Mrs. Sherwood, a lady in England, who has devoted much of her time to writing such little tales for children, and has been very successful in making them pleasing and instructive. We have many different kinds that were written by her, and also some by her sister, Mrs. Cameron, which are equally worthy the attention of all little boys and girls."--preface, p. [2], dated at New Haven, 1833. Variant states noted; one state has a wood engraving of a bull on p. [1] of wrapper; another state has a wood engraving of a storefront on p. [1] of wrapper; another has a wood engraving of a boy and a woman on p. [1] of wrapper. Even-numbered rectos. "Juvenile and toy books ... S. Babcock, Church Street, New Haven"--advertisement, p. [4] of wrapper."
