Walter Sutton, The western book trade, (1961), p. 339.Thomson sold his picture book stock to McLoughlin Bros. ca. 1884; cf. Robert J. Buck, Trail blazers of the Thomson Gamble family (1948), p. 16-17. "These toy books are printed from wood blocks ... The designs are entirely new and original, and the colors rich and brilliant, and the paper far better than is usually used in books of this class."--p. [4] of wrapper. Illustrations signed "J.B.G.," J.B. Geyser. "Big picture books for little children, twenty-five cents each ...
