Moments later, the same man continues to be catatonic, but is able to talk after much struggling. He can only say "yes" or "uh huh," but not his name, or where he is. He is unable to follow directions to hold up his fingers or lift his arm, trembling with his arm, possibly indicating he is attempting to move it. When the interviewer lifts his arm, he is unable to lower his arm. It is clear that he is trying but cannot. The interviewer is able to lower the man's arm. At the end of the interview, he is unable to make a sound or speak. He does not make eye contact.
