First two words of title transliterated from Greek.
Title of v. 2 varies in punctuation, with a colon replacing the period following "Epea pteroenta," and a comma inserted following "St. John's College." Vol. 2 has imprint date: 1807.
Plates engraved by William Kneass.
"Note. The publisher of this first American edition, apprises the friends of literature, that the author proposes to publish a third part of this invaluable work: which it has been intimated, may appear in London in the Spring of 1807 ..."--v. 2, p. [490]. This proposed third volume was never published.
"W. Duane, & Son, printers, Philadelphia."--v. 2, colophon (p. [490]).
