January 2, 1838 transmittal by Governor Campbell of Virginia, to the House of Delegates, of a Maine legislative report and resolutions regarding the encroachment of the British on the northeastern boundary, and a Rhode Island legislative report and resolutions against the admission of Texas into the Union. Of note, Texas entered the Union as a slave state on December 29, 1845.
