Among countless other disruptions, the Covid-19 pandemic has shaken up millions of Americans' attitudes toward their jobs and the labor market. Recent months have seen record numbers of workers walking away from their jobs in pursuit of better working conditions, better wages, and better benefits. This "Great Resignation," as it's being called, coincides with a revitalized labor movement in the United States as workers across major corporations organize strikes, form unions, and generally reject the aspects of U.S. culture that place work at the center of people's lives. This case asks students to discuss the mass exodus from the workplace, its impact on the business landscape, and how businesses and policymakers should address growing anti-work sentiment.
