- Summary
- The behavior of 50 ions in flavianic acid (1-oxy-2, 4-dinitro-7- naphthalene sulfonic acid) was studied, and it was found that in 5 to 7.5 M HCl only Zr and Hf precipitate. A series of experiments made to determine Zr in the presence of Be, Cu, Co, Ni, U, and the rare earths showed that none of these elements interferred with the determination. The method for the gravimetric determination of Zr is given. (J.S.R.)
