- Summary
- 8-Hydroxvquinaldine (2-methyl-oxine) was found to be beryllium. With this reagent, beryllium can be determined gravimetrically, volumetrically, spectrophotometrically, and even fluorometrically, as in the case of aluminum determination with oxine. One of the main advantages in these methods lies in the elimination of aluminum interference, which is common in usual beryllium determination. Consequently, it requires no preliminary and complete separation of aluminum and provides a simple and accurate analytical method for beryllium determination. (auth)
