- Summary:
- Investigation revealed that ejection of the electron beam from the 30- Mev synchrotron with the aid of two moderate sized modulators and coils should be possible. One coil would be used to disturb the guide field in such a way that the radially unstable region moves inward, causing the electrons to spiral outward, while the other would produce a stable track of zero field along which the electrons could move out of the doughnut.
