- Letter of transmittal from Ja: M'Dowell, Executive Department, to the Speaker of the House of Delegates, is dated December 13th, 1844. From the letter: "I herewith communicate for the information of the general assembly, copies of a letter received by this department from Thomas Green, Esq., shewing the progress which he has made in collecting from the general government, as commissioner of Virginia, certain payments on account of revolutionary services which were made by this state since 5th July 1832, and shewing also the present situation of our claim on that behalf and its probable issue."
