Certified copies of general election returns, signed by James Brison, prothonotary of the Court of Common Pleas. Results of the general election of Oct. 8, 1799, give James Sample 1,837 votes and Dunning McNair 1,582 votes, electing both to the House of Representatives in the PA General Assembly. Results of another general election of Oct. 8, 1799, give James Ross 2,106 votes and Thomas McKean 976 votes for Governor of the Commonwealth. Docketed on verso, received 28 Nov. 1799 by James Trimble, Deputy Secretary.
