Results of the general election of Oct. 8, 1799, give James Sample 1,837 votes and Dunning McNair 1,582 votes, electing both to the House of Representatives in the PA General Assembly. Results of another general election of Oct. 8, 1799, give James Ross 2,106 votes and Thomas McKean 976 votes for Governor of the Commonwealth.
