- "Testimony from the Department of the Interior officials concerning a proposed realinement [i.e. realignment] of the Bureau of Indian Affairs central office. The details of the proposed [realignment] have been incorporated in a memorandum dated April 10, 1973, to the Secretary of the Interior from the Assistant to the Secretary of the Interior from the Assistant to the Secretary for Indian Affairs. Under the [realignment], the Bureau will continue to be directed by a Commissioner of Indian Affairs, who will report directly to the Secretary. The Commissioner, will be assisted by a Deputy Commissioner and, until these positions are actually filled, their duties are being performed by Mr. Marvin Franklin, Assistant to the Secretary for Indian Affairs, and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs, William Rogers"--Page 1.
