- To see the feasibility of the proposed assembly, the behavior of the thermal flux in the central moderatorzone of thermal reactors was investigated. The system baving a pure-fuel fast core with the absorber at the interface was compared to systems without the absorber. A blocking layer (light water and the absorbing shell) was studied separtely. The system with diluted fuel waa investigated and the influence of the central moderator-zone on kinetics of the proposed system estimated. The two group diffusion theory in spherical geometry was used in calculations. (W.D.M.)
