- Summary
- Beryllium oxide specimens of various densities, immersed in sodium, were irradiated in the LITR for 328 hr at 15OO deg F plus 110 hr at 750 deg . The exposure at the higher temperature was about 1.8 - 1O/sup 19/ thermal nvt and O.9 - 10/sup 19/ fast. Control specimens were subjected to the same heat treatment in sodium and the average weight loss was found to be 0.0007 g (0.037%) with no significant difference between the irradiated and control groups. The surface- tovolume ratio was roughly 2.5 cm/sup 2//cm/sup 3/. (auth)
