- Summary:
- Seventeen deformed even-even nuclei of the rare earth region were bombarded with 30 to 44-Mev oxygen ions. The Coulomb excitation process was studied by observing the gamma radiation depopulation the excited rotational levels. Excitation probabilities were determined and compared with values obtained by calculations with the rotational model in the sudden approximation. Very good agreement was attained. Cascade gamma energies hew transitions were observed), internal conversion coefficients, quadrupole moments, and probabilities are listed. (D.C.W.)
