Testing of radiation levels of reactor coolant system heat exchangers was performed three times in order to observe any radiation buildup resulting from crud released during the Seed 3-4 refueling operation. The radiation surveys were performed along the length of each heat exchanger at the end of Seed 3 life to obtain initial radiation levels, at the end of the Seed 3-4 refueling operation, and after approximately 150 EFPH on Seed 4. The data obtained do not indicate any significant radiation buildup as a result of the Seed 3-4 refueling operation during the period of time covered by the surveys. The failure to see any increase in radiation level in the data obtained was felt to be due to conducting the surveys at points which were representative of the radiation level in the general area of the heat exchangers and not including contact readings at crud traps which normally indicate large changes in radiation levels.
