Summary
The total beta radioactivity of water, sediment, plants, plankton, fishes, and molluscs of Lago Maggiore was measured to determine the natural activity plus fallout. Concentration factors for different radioisotopes in various animals were calculated. Extensive laboratory studies were conducted on content of Sr/sup 89/ and Mn/sup 54/ in plants, sediments, molluses, and fishes of Lago Maggiore. (C.H.)
