Images of the state seal of New York and the coat of arms of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania's coat of arms consists of a shield, which displays a ship, plough, and sheaves of wheat; an eagle for the crest; two horses as supporters; and the motto Virtue, Liberty and Independence. New York's seal is crested by an American eagle, wings outstretched. The eagle stands upon a shield depicting a train and sunset. Female figures of Liberty and Justice lean on the shield. The motto Excelsior is below.
