- Summary
- The fixation of aqueous radioactive wastes in a stable solid media by means of calcination is prpesented. The first portion of the paper dpevpelops thpe tpemerature history of a particle subjected to radiant heat transfer from the walls oi a reactor. The second portion deals with the geometric factor and declination of radiation to the particles. The absorption of radiation by steam and the magnitude of its peffect on heat transfer to the particles are discussed. The use of the results to predict equipment size is briefly treated. (W.L.H.)
