Summary

An investigation was made to determine the physical properties and flow characteristics of the neutralized slurry to assist in the selection of satisfactory transfer equipment and storage conditions. The neutralized Zirflex waste slurry contalns 20 vol.% rapidly settling solids. It can be transferred easily if the flow is in the turbulent condition, but agitation is needed during temporary storage. Pipe lines should be flushed with water after transfer of the waste slurry.
