Summary
An investigation of a twin argon welding process was conducted by welding both ends of 1 and E fuel elements. It was found that the method produces surfuce finisb and weld dimensions equivalent to those produced at Hanford. Since very little difference was found, further investigation was not justified. Photographs of welds produced by the twin argon process are included and the welding process is described. (J.R.D.)
