- Summary
- A geophysical seismic research study was conducted in the Hanford Works area to determine the applicability of seismic techniques for studying movements of ground water. The surfaces of the basalt and the Ringold Formation were detected, but the ground water table was not detected because it lay within the Formation. Features lying beneath the basalt surface (interbeds, faults, and base of basalt series) could not be probed. The performance of rotary drills is compared with that of cable-tool drills. (D.L.C.)
