Phase equilibria in the Pu--PuCl/sub 3/ system was investigated up to 1180 deg C. A salt-rich eutectic point exists at 7 mole% Pu and 740 deg C, which is also the monotectic temperature. The metal-rich eutectic point is at some composition greater than 99 mole% Pu and was too small te be detected. The consolute temperature is sufficiently high to be beyond the scope of this investigation. No evidence for a Pu halide other than PuCl/sub 3/ was found. (auth)
