- Summary:
- Data obtained in the evaluation of Tubes 116 through 121, extrusions No. 30795 through 30800, are presented. These 6 inner tubes with unalloyed uranium cores and of identieal design were made to demonstrate the reproducibility of the fabrication process. One of the tubes was processed as a flow test tube and was not heat treated. The remaining 5 tubes were beta treated. The tubes No. 116, 117, 118, 119, and 121 met all specifications. Tube No. 120 met all specifications except that notch-fracture tests of end seal samples indicated inferior bonding between zirconium and Zircaloy on the outer cladding. (M.C.G.)
