- Summary
- The absorption of vitamin B/sub 12/ by individuals with a partial or total gastrectomy was investigated using B/sub 12/ in aqueous solution containing 0.5 mu c of Co/sup 60/100 ml of solution. The activity in fecal and urinary eliminations is representative of the amount absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The results obtained are tabulated and show that in total gastrectomies most of the activity is found in the feces which contain an average of 88.25% of the total activity administered. In the controls 41% of the total activity administered was in the feces. (J.S.R.)
