Contains essays, articles, poems, short stories, and plays by African American writers, and drawings by African American artists. The publication was originally created wholly by members of the Club for distribution among themselves and a few interested friends, though for the third (and final) number of the magazine a limited number of issues were put on sale for the general public. --p. Rare Books Blockson copy of no. 3 is a presentation copy with two signatures: first by contributor Allyn Hill to his parents, second by contributor Dorothy West to Charles L. Blockson; also p. 23 of this issue is torn and the fragment has been laid in.
