The plaintiff argued that as a free woman of colour, her son was also entitled to his freedom. She accused the defendant of forcibly detaining the boy. The defendant denied the charge. There was a judgment in favour of the plaintiff and the defendant appealed. The Supreme Court supported the judgment made by the District Court.
