The plaintiff states that he purchased nine lots of ground situated in the parish of Jefferson. Another four lots of ground were purchased by the Canal Company. The plaintiff argued that work on this land had twice been taken up and later abandoned. Plaintiff wished the defendants to finish and complete the road and pay out [dollars] 4000 in damages. The court found a verdict for the defendants and the plaintiff appealed. As the plaintiff had furnished no legal proof for his allegations, the Supreme Court supported the verdict of the jury.
