- Summary:
- The Johnston worked as an overseer on a cotton plantation for Sprigg. He was contracted to work for a year for a payment of [dollars] 500 and an extra [dollars] 100 to be given if there was a good crop. The plaintiff was removed from his job without any reason after six months. In a district court judgment it was ordered that the plaintiff be paid [dollars] 450, less [dollars] 23 of a credit owed to the defendant. Sprigg appealed this decision and in this case the previous judgment was annulled and then changed to half of the contracted [dollars] 500 less the [dollars] 23 which totalled to [dollars] 227.
