Plaintiff sues the owners of the steamboat Anleer for the value of one of his slaves called Ned, who he alledges was employed on the boat without his permission. The slave had been hired to work on a levee and died of cholera. The plaintiff was awarded damages for the loss of time of his slave, when the slave was employed on the boat, and case was remanded for a retrial.
