- Summary
- Mary Mosely, as administratrix of the estate of Benjamin T Mosley, deceased, brought an action against Lyon, former sheriff of Floyd county, on a bail bond of [dollars] 10,000. The bill alleged that this indebtedness accrued as a result of a defective action sued out by Lyon against one Charles Ross and in favour of Benjamin Mosley. Ross had last been heard of in Baltimore in 1859, about to leave for Africa to buy slaves. The lower court found for Lyon and Mosley excepted. The Supreme Court upheld the verdict.
