- Summary
- Action of debt to recover penalty of [dollars] 100 imposed after conviction for illegally selling liquor to a slave. The defendant, Keller, who had been convicted of selling spirituous liquors to a slave called Larcel, maintained that the plaintiff could not recover because the statute on liquor sales to slaves did not give him the right to sue. The court found for the plaintiff and Keller appealed. The Supreme Court upheld the judgment of the Superior Court.
