Weir was indicted for forging bills of sale for stolen slaves. The court found for the State and Weir was sentenced to death; he appealed on the grounds of irregularities concerning the foreman of the grand jury. The Supreme Court dismissed this objection, and also affirmed the competency of persons named as accomplices in the case to act as witnesses. Judgment affirmed.
