A vendor's-eye-view'' is given of the quality survey, an activity that is becoming an increasingly important safeguard of the quality and reliability of manufactured products. What attitude toward an impending survey should the vendor take? How should he prepare for it? What is he to expect from the surveying organization? When properly accomplished, a survey can be a beneficial, professional experience for all panties involved; but it should be stressed that only in a climate of adequate preparation, mutual understanding, competent investigation, objective recommendation, and constructive corrective action (when required) can maximum results be obtained.
